The Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a one-year advanced subspecialty training program focused on the comprehensive evaluation and management of mental health disorders in older adults, including dementia, depression, delirium, and other late-life psychiatric conditions. The program provides multidisciplinary clinical training across inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, and community-based settings, with strong emphasis on psychopharmacology in aging populations, cognitive and capacity assessments, neuropsychiatry, and behavioral management. Fellows also participate in structured didactics, case discussions, teaching, and research activities, preparing them for board certification in Geriatric Psychiatry and careers in clinical practice, academic medicine, and leadership in geriatric mental health.
