Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School is designed to train fellows for independent practice as consultants in gastroenterology and hepatology. The program provides comprehensive clinical training in gastrointestinal and liver disorders, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, hepatology, inpatient and outpatient care, and management of a broad range of GI conditions. Fellows also participate in didactic lectures, research projects, teaching activities, and clinical services across high-volume academic and community-based hospital settings.

1. Submit the fellowship application through ERAS, if required by the program.
2. Apply through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) if the program participates in the Match.
3. Submit the ERAS application, including the required applicant information.
4. Provide USMLE/COMLEX transcripts or scores.
5. Submit three letters of recommendation.
6. Submit a Personal Statement.
7. Provide details of medical school and Internal Medicine residency training.
8. Applicants who meet the initial requirements may be invited for an interview.
9. Final selection is completed according to the applicable fellowship Match process.
