The Emergency Medicine Education Scholarship Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a prestigious two-year, SAEM-approved fellowship designed to prepare emergency physicians for leadership roles in academic medical education. Offered through the Department of Emergency Medicine, the program combines advanced educational theory with practical leadership experience in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education. Fellows maintain clinical practice as attending physicians in the Emergency Department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital while participating in curriculum design, learner assessment, simulation-based education, faculty development, and residency administration. The curriculum offers individualized mentorship and opportunities to pursue a Master's degree aligned with medical education interests. Fellows actively contribute to education research, scholarly publications, grant development, and presentations at national conferences. They also participate in the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators (FAME), residency leadership committees, and institutional educational initiatives. Graduates are well prepared for careers as residency program directors, clerkship directors, simulation educators, academic faculty members, and leaders in emergency medicine education.
