The Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program for physicians who have completed an anesthesiology residency, offering structured rotations across multiple ICU settings including surgical/transplant/trauma, neuro/trauma, cardiovascular, medical, and cardiac care units, along with dedicated time in palliative care, PACU, echocardiography, telemedicine-based critical care (eICU), and simulation-based skills training. Fellows train within a high-volume, high-acuity health system that performs over 60,000 anesthetics and 5,500 deliveries annually, and includes a Level 1 trauma center, liver and kidney transplant programs, and the nation's busiest Center for Complex Aortic Disease. The program is designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on critical care exposure across specialties, preparing fellows for board eligibility in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine.
