The three-year Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at UAB provides comprehensive interdisciplinary training in adolescent health and medicine. Fellows gain clinical and scholarly experience in the physical, physiological, and psychosocial aspects of adolescent development, including mental health, reproductive and sexual health, nutrition, eating disorders, substance use, chronic conditions, infectious diseases, preventive care, sports medicine, and social and environmental health concerns. The program also includes teaching, research, community involvement, policy and advocacy training, and professional development through the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) program. Fellows have clinical training at Children's of Alabama and UAB Hospital, with opportunities for master's-level study in public health, health administration, or related fields.
