Fellowship Course in Adolescent Medicine

The Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is an ACGME-approved three-year fellowship program that provides comprehensive clinical, academic, and research training in the care of adolescents and young adults. The program offers diverse clinical experiences including hospital-based adolescent care, HIV high-risk clinics, school and university-based clinics, reproductive health services, STD clinics, and care for vulnerable youth populations. Fellows participate in structured academic activities, research projects, journal clubs, and teaching conferences while developing expertise in adolescent healthcare, preventive medicine, and community health. The program also provides opportunities for scholarly work, national conference participation, and additional public health education through SUNY Downstate programs, preparing graduates for careers in adolescent medicine practice, education, and research.

1. Complete the fellowship application form provided by the program
2. Submit the completed application along with two letters of recommendation to the Program Director
3. Applications are reviewed by the fellowship selection committee
4. Selected candidates are contacted for further evaluation/interview
5. Final selection is based on the applicant’s qualifications, clinical background, and interest in adolescent medicine
