The Urology Residency Program at UCSF School of Medicine is a comprehensive 6-year residency designed to train residents across the full spectrum of urologic evaluation, intervention, and research. The program includes clinical rotations at UCSF, San Francisco General Hospital, and the San Francisco VA Medical Center, with training in urologic oncology, pediatric urology, endourology and stone disease, reconstructive urology, female urology, andrology, infertility, robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and microsurgical techniques. One full year is dedicated to basic, translational, clinical, or outcomes research, while the final year provides chief-resident experience with increasing surgical independence and leadership responsibilities. Residents also participate in weekly didactic sessions, monthly conferences, and hands-on skills laboratories.
