The Urology Residency Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is an ACGME-accredited six-year residency designed to train highly skilled academic and clinical urologists. The curriculum offers a personalized and flexible educational experience with extensive exposure to all major urologic subspecialties through training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Residents gain progressive operative responsibility in open, laparoscopic, robotic, and endoscopic surgery while caring for a diverse patient population. A distinguishing feature of the program is its fully funded dedicated research year, enabling residents to pursue laboratory, translational, clinical, or outcomes research under faculty mentorship. Additional opportunities include resident-designed elective rotations, international training experiences, and independent chief resident clinics. Graduates are well prepared for certification by the American Board of Urology and for careers in academic medicine, private practice, or competitive urology fellowships.
