Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program

The three-year Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency provides comprehensive training in primary care with a strong focus on vulnerable and underserved populations. Residents train across Denver Health, University of Colorado Hospital, and the Denver VA Medical Center, with a clinical home in Denver Health’s nationally recognized safety-net system. The flexible curriculum prepares graduates for primary care practice, academic general internal medicine, and further training in areas such as geriatrics, palliative care, and public health.

6. Applicants interested in the Primary Care Track are encouraged to attend a Primary Care-focused interview day, featuring additional primary-care faculty, outpatient cases, and a Primary Care Q&A session
7. Applicants who do not attend a Primary Care-focused interview day can still receive Primary Care Track information through the regular interview days
8. After interviewing, eligible applicants can rank the Primary Care Track in the NRMP Match
9. Final selection is completed through the NRMP Match
