The Fellowship in Pediatric Surgical Critical Care at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year fellowship providing comprehensive training in pediatric surgical critical care, trauma, burns, and adult surgical critical care. Fellows rotate through the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), and Burn Unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado Hospital. Training covers critical care of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, including ventilator and hemodynamic support, fluid and electrolyte management, nutrition, ECMO, cardiac transplantation, burn resuscitation, and critical care procedures. The program also emphasizes teaching, research, multidisciplinary conferences, and preparation for the American Board of Surgery Surgical Critical Care examination.
