Fellowship in Pediatric Colorectal Surgery

The Fellowship in Pediatric Colorectal Surgery at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year fellowship focused on comprehensive training in the diagnosis, surgical management, and long-term care of congenital and acquired colorectal conditions in children. Fellows participate in colorectal surgery, outpatient clinics, bowel management, rounds, academic conferences, Grand Rounds, and morbidity and mortality conferences. Training covers conditions such as anorectal malformations, cloaca, cloacal exstrophy, Hirschsprung disease, idiopathic constipation, and fecal incontinence, including preoperative evaluation, operative techniques, postoperative care, and long-term bowel management. Fellows may also participate in general pediatric surgery calls and have opportunities for research using the program's extensive database of congenital colorectal conditions.

1. Submit the application by email to the Program Coordinator
2. Complete the required application forms and submit the supporting documents
3. Provide the required three letters of recommendation
4. The program reviews the submitted application materials
5. Selected candidates are invited for a phone interview
6. The interview season runs for two weeks following the Pediatric Surgery Match in May
7. Applicants are notified of their application status by email
8. The program matches with one fellow each May
9. The selected fellow begins the one-year fellowship in August of the following year
