Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

1. Applicants must graduate from a medical school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), or from an appropriately accredited osteopathic medical school.
2. International medical graduates must graduate from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and meet Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) requirements.
3. Applicants must meet the additional eligibility requirements established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for Orthopaedic Surgery.
4. Applicants must meet Cedars-Sinai's graduate medical education, credentialing and California training requirements.
5. Applicants must submit a complete application with the required academic and supporting documents.

The Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides comprehensive training in the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. Residents gain progressive clinical and operative experience across areas such as orthopaedic trauma, sports medicine, adult reconstruction, spine, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, and other orthopaedic subspecialties. The program combines hands-on patient care with academic teaching, multidisciplinary collaboration, research and professional development, preparing residents for independent orthopaedic practice and further subspecialty fellowship training. Cedars-Sinai also emphasizes advanced clinical education, simulation-based learning and exposure to a diverse patient population.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the required application materials and supporting credentials.
3. The program reviews applications according to its residency selection criteria.
4. Applicants selected for further consideration are invited for an interview.
5. Participate in the interview process as scheduled by the program.
6. Participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for residency selection, where applicable. Cedars-Sinai's general policy states that residency selection is conducted through the NRMP or another organized matching program whenever possible.
7. Matched applicants complete the required credentialing, licensing and onboarding requirements before beginning residency.
