Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

1. Must have a medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a medical school.
2. Must meet the eligibility requirements for the five-year ACGME-accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program.
3. Must submit required licensing examination scores: USMLE, NBME, FLEX, or COMLEX. If Part I is Pass/Fail, a Part II score is required.
4. Must provide a medical school transcript and Dean’s Letter.
5. Must submit 3 narrative letters of recommendation, with at least 1 letter from an orthopaedic surgeon.
6. International medical students should apply through ECFMG.

The Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program provides comprehensive training in all aspects of musculoskeletal medicine and orthopaedic surgery. Residents gain clinical experience across adult reconstruction and joint replacement, foot and ankle, hand surgery, musculoskeletal oncology, pediatric orthopaedics, spine surgery, sports medicine, and trauma at multiple affiliated hospitals. The program includes a structured two-year core curriculum, subspecialty conferences, surgical simulation, evidence-based learning, Grand Rounds, and clinical and basic science research, with every resident required to complete a research project during residency.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the completed ERAS application.
3. Upload the medical school transcript, personal statement, photograph, examination scores, and Dean’s Letter.
4. Submit 3 narrative letters of recommendation, including at least 1 from an orthopaedic surgeon.
5. Only documents submitted through ERAS are considered.
6. Register for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
7. Positions are filled through the NRMP Match.
