MS Obstetric and Gynecology

The MS – Obstetrics and Gynaecology program at NIIMS is a 3-year postgraduate surgical specialty course that trains physicians in comprehensive women’s healthcare. It emphasizes diagnosis and management of obstetric cases (including normal and high-risk pregnancies, labor, and delivery) and gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, infertility, gynecologic cancers, and pelvic floor disorders. The curriculum blends classroom teaching, clinical postings, surgical skill development, and exposure to advanced procedures like laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Students learn to handle antenatal care, neonatal and postnatal support, family planning techniques, and assisted reproductive technologies, fostering clinical judgment, surgical proficiency, and research competencies necessary for a successful career as an obstetrician and gynecologist.

1. Qualify NEET-PG: Appear and obtain a valid NEET-PG score for the academic year.
2. Register for Counseling: Register online for UPDGME (State Counseling) and/or MCC (All India Quota) counseling.
3. Choice Filling: Select MS – Obstetrics and Gynaecology at NIIMS during online choice filing.
4. Seat Allotment: Secure a seat based on NEET-PG rank, reservation category, and counseling round.
5. Document Verification: Attend document verification at the designated nodal center (e.g., Government Medical College, Lucknow).
6. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay the required tuition and hostel fees to confirm admission at NIIMS.
7. Commence Training: Report to the institute and start academic and clinical duties as per schedule.
