MS Obstetric and Gynecology

1. MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission.
2. Permanent/Provisional Medical Registration (State or National Medical Council).
3. Valid NEET-PG score and inclusion in the All-India Merit List.
4. Participation in centralised DGHS/MCC counselling (for deemed university PG seats).
5. Additional criteria as specified by Symbiosis International University and NMC.

The MS – Obstetrics & Gynaecology programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune is one of the postgraduate clinical courses introduced from the academic year 2025-26 following approval by the National Medical Commission. It trains specialists in comprehensive women’s reproductive healthcare including antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care, management of labour and childbirth, diagnosis and surgical treatment of gynaecological conditions, and fertility and family planning counseling. The department aims to foster excellence in clinical skills through hands-on experience and evidence-based practice at the Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC), the attached tertiary care teaching hospital. The curriculum emphasises patient safety, surgical competence in procedures such as caesarean sections, laparoscopic gynaecological surgeries, management of obstetric emergencies, and research in women’s health, preparing graduates for independent specialist practice or further academic roles.
