MS General Surgery

1. MBBS degree recognized by NMC.
2. Completed compulsory internship.
3. Qualified in NEET-PG examination.
4. All India or State counseling allotment through UPDGME / MCC.

The MS – General Surgery program at NIIMS is a comprehensive 3-year postgraduate surgical training course designed to impart clinical expertise and operative proficiency across a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines. Students learn foundational and advanced surgical techniques including abdominal surgery, trauma and emergency care, laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, vascular surgery, oncological surgery, pediatric surgery, and endocrine surgery. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on clinical exposure, preparing candidates to function as competent surgeons in both routine and complex cases. The program emphasizes decision-making, patient management, preoperative and postoperative care, and emergency surgical interventions, equipping graduates for careers in hospitals, trauma centers, or academic roles.

1. Qualify NEET-PG: Appear for and obtain a valid NEET-PG score.
2. Register for Counseling: Register online for UPDGME counseling and/or MCC All India Quota counseling for the academic year.
3. Choice Filling: Select MS – General Surgery at NIIMS during choice filling.
4. Seat Allotment: Secure a seat based on rank, category, and counseling rounds.
5. Document Verification: Complete verification at designated nodal center (e.g., Government Medical College, Lucknow).
6. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay required fees and report to NIIMS with documents to confirm admission.
7. Commence Training: Join academic and clinical training as per institute schedule. (Standard PG counseling and reporting steps apply.)
