MS General Surgery

The MS General Surgery programme at Madha Medical College & Research Institute provides comprehensive training in all aspects of surgical care. Residents gain hands-on experience in preoperative assessment, operative procedures, and postoperative management for conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, endocrine organs, breast, vascular system, and trauma. The department has fully equipped operation theatres, intensive care units, and emergency services to provide extensive clinical exposure. Academic training includes seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, and research work. The curriculum follows competency-based postgraduate guidelines prescribed by the National Medical Commission, focusing on surgical proficiency, clinical decision-making, patient safety, and ethical practice. Graduates are trained to become competent general surgeons capable of independent practice and managing complex surgical cases.

1. Possess a recognised MBBS degree
2. Completed 1-year compulsory internship on or before the counselling cut-off date
3. Permanent registration with NMC / State Medical Council
4. Must have qualified NEET-PG in the relevant admission year
5. Must meet eligibility norms prescribed by DGHS / State PG Medical Counselling Authority
