Overview

The MS in General Surgery program at MIMER Pune is a structured three-year postgraduate surgical training course designed to develop competent, ethical, and skilled surgeons. The program offers extensive hands-on exposure to elective and emergency surgical procedures through supervised operating theatre work, ward management, outpatient services, and trauma care. Residents are trained in preoperative evaluation, surgical decision-making, operative techniques, and postoperative management. The curriculum follows MUHS and NMC guidelines and includes seminars, journal clubs, morbidity and mortality meetings, research methodology, and completion of a dissertation. Eligibility

  1. MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission
  2. Completion of compulsory rotating internship by the prescribed cutoff date
  3. Valid NEET PG score for the admission year
  4. Registration with NMC/State Medical Council
  5. Admission through centralized PG medical counseling
  6. Fulfillment of category and reservation criteria as applicable
