The MS in General Surgery at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) is a rigorous three-year residency program aimed at producing skilled surgeons with strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. FAAMCH, a government medical institution established in 2011, provides postgraduate training in well-equipped operation theatres, surgical ICUs, and emergency wards. The Department of Surgery conducts regular operative workshops, clinical case discussions, seminars, and morbidity & mortality meetings to strengthen decision-making and operative skills. Residents are trained in elective and emergency surgical procedures, including abdominal surgeries, trauma care, endoscopic procedures, and soft tissue management. The program also emphasizes research, academic presentations, and teaching responsibilities. Graduates are prepared for independent surgical practice, higher surgical super-specializations, and teaching roles in medical colleges.
