Eligibility Criteria

Recognized MBBS degree (or equivalent) from NMC-recognized institution.
Completion of compulsory internship (or to be completed by date specified by admission authority) before joining.
Qualification (valid score/rank) in NEET PG.
For general (unreserved) category: minimum NEET PG percentile / rank as defined (as per year’s counselling norms). For SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other reserved categories: respective quota and percentile norms apply.

Minimum Education

CIMS is a government medical college established in 2016, located in Yadapura village, Chamarajanagar district, Karnataka. The campus spans around 42 acres and includes a teaching hospital — a multi-specialty tertiary-care hospital serving the district and surrounding rural/forest/tribal populations.
The MS – General Surgery program at CIMS is among the postgraduate clinical courses offered, with a sanctioned intake of 4 seats. Over three years, the program provides comprehensive surgical training — combining theory, practical surgical exposure (major and minor operations), pre- and post-operative care, emergency surgical management, and rotations across surgical subspecialties, leveraging the hospital’s broad case-load and infrastructure (operation theatres, ICU, wards, emergency services). The attached hospital’s status as a tertiary care center ensures trainees are exposed to a diverse caseload, from routine to complicated surgical cases, which is important for skill development.
