1. MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised medical college.
2. Completed the one‑year compulsory internship before admission.
3. Valid NEET‑PG qualification with a rank meeting the counselling cutoff.
4. Registration (permanent or provisional) with the National Medical Commission orthe respective State Medical Council prior to admission.

The MD – General Medicine program at ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Haldia, is a three‑year postgraduate medical degree designed to develop specialists capable of delivering high‑quality internal medicine care in hospital and clinical settings. The curriculum combines advanced theoretical training with extensive clinical exposure to a broad array of medical conditions affecting adults. Students rotate through wards, outpatient departments, and intensive care units where they learn to assess, diagnose, and manage complex conditions involving cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, neurological, and multisystem disorders. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, diagnostic skills, medical ethics, evidence‑based treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Research methodology, seminars, case discussions, and clinical teaching rounds further enrich the learning experience. Training takes place in the institute’s teaching hospital, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy Hospital, which provides real‑world patient care exposure under experienced faculty supervision, preparing graduates for roles as consultants in internal medicine, academic physicians, or for further super-speciality training.

1. Qualify NEET‑PG: Candidates must appear for and qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET‑PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
2. Register for Counseling: Register through the designated counseling authority (e.g., West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) or central/state PG counseling portal).
3. Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: Enter preferences for colleges and specialties; seats are allotted based on NEET‑PG rank, category, and seat availability.
4. Document Verification: Attend document verification with NEET‑PG scorecard, MBBS degree and internship completion certificates, identity proof, and category documents.
5. Fee Payment & Reporting: Pay the required fees as per allotment and report to ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research by the specified date to complete admission formalities.
