1. MBBS degree from an NMC-recognised medical college.
2. Completed the one‑year compulsory internship before admission.
3. Valid NEET‑PG qualification with a rank meeting the counselling cutoff.

The MD – General Medicine program at ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Haldia, is a three‑year postgraduate medical degree designed to develop specialists capable of delivering high‑quality internal medicine care in hospital and clinical settings. The curriculum combines advanced theoretical training with extensive clinical exposure to a broad array of medical conditions affecting adults. Students rotate through wards, outpatient departments, and intensive care units where they learn to assess, diagnose, and manage complex conditions involving cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, neurological, and multisystem disorders. Research methodology, seminars, case discussions, and clinical teaching rounds further enrich the learning experience.
