Overview

The M.D. Dermatology program at AIMSRC is a three-year postgraduate degree under RGUHS and recognized by NMC, offering comprehensive training in skin and sexually transmitted diseases, leprosy, and dermato-surgical procedures. The curriculum combines rigorous theoretical instruction — including lectures, seminars, journal clubs, CMEs, case discussions — with extensive clinical exposure in a multi-specialty teaching hospital attached to the institute. Residents are expected to manage outpatient dermatology clinics, inpatient dermatology wards, dermato-surgery, skin pathology labs, and leprosy-related care; this broad exposure helps build clinical and diagnostic competence. The institute’s infrastructure — including modern classrooms, diagnostic facilities, labs, and clinical wards — supports hands-on training. Through this program, graduates are prepared to work as dermatologists in hospitals, skin clinics, public health services (particularly for leprosy), or continue with further specialisation or academic/research careers.
