MD Community Medicine

1. Must have passed MBBS and completed internship prior to the academic session start.
2. Possess permanent or provisional medical registration.
3. Qualified NEET-PG with minimum required percentile applicable to general and reserved categories under NMC eligibility rules.
4. Meet any additional criteria laid down during counselling by MCC or the State CET Cell.

The MD Community Medicine programme at Government Medical College, Jalgaon is a three-year postgraduate medical degree designed to prepare doctors as leaders in community health and public health systems. The training emphasises epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion, disease prevention, and health programme management. Through postings in rural and urban health centres, outbreak investigations, and community interventions, candidates gain practical experience addressing real public health challenges. The department integrates classroom teaching with fieldwork and research, helping students acquire competencies needed for policy planning, health education, and preventive strategies in government and non-government health sectors. A strong foundation in community medicine enables graduates to work in public health departments, NGOs, academic institutions, and global health organisations.

1. NEET-PG Exam: Appear and qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG).
2. Counselling Registration: Register for PG counselling with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota and with the State Common Entrance Test Cell (Maharashtra) for state quota seats.
3. Seat Allotment: Based on NEET-PG rank, category, and preference, seats are allotted through counselling rounds.
4. Document Verification: Attend verification with educational certificates, medical registration, internship completion certificate, and NEET-PG scorecard.
5. Reporting & Joining: Complete admission formalities and join at GMC Jalgaon as per the allotted seat.
