Overview
The Master of Science Program in Public Health Nutrition provides students with the knowledge & skills to practice as public health nutrition professionals & provide trained cadre of nutrition professionals to government, non government (international/national NGOs, training institutes etc.) to contribute in large scale implementation of national flagship health, foods & nutrition programs. The program has an internship component in which the students complete supervised practice hours within community-based settings of various UN organizations like UNICEF, GAIN, International/national NGOs, Training institutes etc. The M.Sc. Program also includes a research component wherein students conduct an in-depth original research or conduct operations research in public health nutrition in conjunction with the coursework. This specialization comprises courses which will enable students to analyze emerging and critical issues in public health nutrition, dietary risks & food systems at local, national and international levels by drawing on currently available evidence-based research. Students will also learn to monitor and analyze available population health, nutrition, dietary & epidemiological data- to assess the effectiveness of public health nutrition policies, interventions, programs and services; and to identify gaps and opportunities in service delivery, policy frameworks and program implementation

Online Admission through MSUB Portal.
The final selection would be based on the following criteria :
a) Marks/grades obtained at the qualifying examinations (50%)
b) Entrance examination (50%)
Note:
- Thalassemia screening programme is compulsory for each admitted student of the Maharaja Sayajirao University.
- A discounted fees of Rs 150/- will be charged from the student towards the cost of sample testing at university Health Center/University Pavilion by “Red Cross Society”, India.
- Student has to produce Thalassemia screening certificate for obtaining the final eligibility.
- Personal Aadhaar card number, Email-ID and Mobile number is must for registering the application for Admission in any of the programmes of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
Only short listed candidates will be called for Personal Interview.
To qualify for M. Sc. (Family and Community Sciences) degree with FN (PHN) or FN (D), students must complete a minimum of 48 credits of course work, 10 credits of dissertation and 2 credits of Internship.
