The Interventional Radiology Independent Residency Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School is an ACGME-accredited advanced training program designed for diagnostic radiologists pursuing specialized training in interventional radiology. The program provides comprehensive hands-on training in image-guided minimally invasive procedures, pre-procedure assessment, procedural management, inpatient care, and post-procedure follow-up, preparing residents for independent IR practice and the American Board of Radiology (ABR) IR/DR examination. ESIR residents may enter directly into the second year after completing the required first year of IR training at their home institution.
