The Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a one-year, full-time fellowship designed to provide comprehensive training in forensic psychiatry and prepare fellows for clinical practice in forensic and correctional settings, teaching, research, system consultation, and academic careers. Training combines didactic seminars with supervised practical experience in forensic evaluations, forensic report writing, civil and criminal cases, correctional psychiatry, competency restoration, fitness-for-duty examinations, independent medical examinations, ethical issues, and court testimony. Fellows also participate in mock trials, interdisciplinary training with forensic psychology and legal professionals, research, and case-law analysis.
