Fellowship of Neurocritical Care (FNCC)

• Must be a current resident or recent graduate
• Residency must be ACGME-accredited
• Eligible specialties include:
• Neurology
• Neurosurgery
• Internal Medicine
• Emergency Medicine
• Anesthesiology / Critical Care Medicine
• Must be board-eligible (or board-certified) in the primary specialty
• Must be eligible for medical licensure in the United States

The Neurocritical Care Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a 2-year comprehensive training program designed to develop expertise in the management of critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Fellows gain extensive hands-on experience in specialized neuro-intensive care units, managing complex cases such as acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, intracranial hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and neuromuscular respiratory failure. The program emphasizes advanced critical care skills, including ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and neuromonitoring techniques such as intracranial pressure monitoring and continuous EEG. Fellows work within a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and critical care specialists while also engaging in clinical research and academic development, preparing them for leadership roles as neurointensivists in academic or tertiary care settings.
