The Neurocritical Care Fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is an ACGME-accredited two-year advanced training program offered through the Department of Neurology's Division of Neurocritical Care. Fellows receive comprehensive training across multiple NYU-affiliated hospitals and gain exposure to a diverse population of critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patients. The fellowship provides hands-on experience in managing acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, neuromuscular emergencies, brain infections, and complex postoperative neurosurgical cases. Training occurs in specialized Neuro-ICUs at Bellevue Hospital, Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, and NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn. Fellows develop expertise in ventilator management, multimodal neuromonitoring, neuroimaging interpretation, point-of-care ultrasound, transcranial ultrasound, and critical care procedures. The curriculum includes structured didactics, simulation-based training, neurocritical care conferences, journal clubs, grand rounds, and multidisciplinary case discussions. Fellows also participate in research, quality improvement projects, and scholarly activities under the mentorship of nationally recognized neurointensivists. The program emphasizes leadership development, team management, procedural competence, and evidence-based critical care, preparing graduates for careers in academic neurocritical care, comprehensive stroke centers, tertiary-care hospitals, and neuroscience institutes worldwide.
