The Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 1-year ACGME-accredited fellowship providing comprehensive training in the management of critically ill surgical and trauma patients. Fellows rotate through five intensive care units across four clinical sites, gaining experience with high-acuity general surgery, trauma, transplant, cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, and ECMO patients. The program combines hands-on clinical training with weekly critical care conferences, workshops, board preparation, simulation, and research opportunities in clinical, translational, basic science, and medical informatics fields.
