Fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology

1. Medical Degree or equivalent.
2. United States citizenship, Canadian citizenship, or permanent resident status in the United States is preferred.
3. Non-citizens with J-1 visas may be considered on a case-by-case basis; currently, other visa types are not eligible.
4. Completion of 3 years of Pediatric Residency in an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved program.
5. Expected satisfactory completion of requirements for Certification in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.
6. Registration with the National Resident Matching Program and submission of the National Resident Matching Program number.
7. California Medical License required at the time of starting the fellowship.

The UCLA Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program started in 2004 and is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited three-year program providing comprehensive training in pediatric rheumatologic diseases. The program prepares specialists to provide medical and consultative care for children and adolescents with a broad range of rheumatic conditions. It is particularly designed for pediatricians interested in academic careers, including clinical, translational, and basic science research. Training also focuses on diagnosis and management, teaching, lifelong learning, medical literature evaluation, and research.

1. All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service.
2. Application must include a Curriculum Vitae, Personal Statement, and 3 Letters of Recommendation.
3. Applications are reviewed starting in August.
4. Interviews are scheduled from September through October.
5. Rank List is due in November.
6. Match Day is in December.
7. The position is competitive, so applicants are encouraged to submit applications early.
