Fellowship in Pediatric Rheumatology

The Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited training program based primarily at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The first year focuses on comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of pediatric rheumatic conditions through inpatient and outpatient services. The second and third years emphasize clinical/translational research, basic laboratory research, health services research, educational scholarship, and other academic activities, while fellows continue clinical care. Training covers conditions including juvenile arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis, and periodic fever syndromes. Fellows also receive training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, joint injections, multidisciplinary care, teaching, quality improvement, and preparation for the American Board of Pediatrics subspecialty certification examination.

6. Submit Medical School Transcript
7. Submit Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
8. Submit 3 letters of recommendation, including 1 letter from the applicant’s residency program director
9. The program begins reviewing completed applications in July
10. Selected applicants are invited for an interview
11. Interviews are conducted virtually, generally during August, September and October
12. The program generally accepts 2 new fellows per academic year
13. The fellowship participates in the NRMP Fall Match
