The Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited training program based primarily at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The first year focuses on comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of pediatric rheumatic conditions through inpatient and outpatient services. The second and third years emphasize clinical/translational research, basic laboratory research, health services research, educational scholarship, and other academic activities, while fellows continue clinical care. Training covers conditions including juvenile arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, vasculitis, chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis, and periodic fever syndromes. Fellows also receive training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, joint injections, multidisciplinary care, teaching, quality improvement, and preparation for the American Board of Pediatrics subspecialty certification examination.
