Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery

The Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF School of Medicine is an advanced, hands-on clinical training program focused on the comprehensive management of musculoskeletal disorders in children. Fellows gain extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions, including pediatric trauma, spinal deformities, hip disorders, limb deformities, and sports-related injuries in children and adolescents. Training takes place at leading centers such as UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, where fellows are exposed to high patient volumes and complex surgical cases. The program emphasizes progressive responsibility, development of advanced surgical skills, and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. In addition, fellows are actively involved in clinical research, academic teaching, and scholarly activities, preparing them for independent practice as well as careers in academic pediatric orthopaedics and subspecialty leadership roles
