The Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a 1-year fellowship beginning every July. The program provides advanced clinical and surgical training in pediatric eye disorders and pediatric/adult strabismus, including complex strabismus, re-operations, muscle palsies, thyroid ophthalmopathy, pediatric glaucoma, retinoblastoma, inherited eye disorders, and albinism. Fellows participate extensively in clinical and surgical care, with approximately 400 surgical cases annually, and serve as primary surgeon in the majority of cases. The fellowship also includes research, resident and medical student teaching, specialty clinics, inpatient consultations, and academic conferences.
