Overview
- The Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is a three-year ACGME-accredited specialty training program that immerses fellows in comprehensive clinical and research experiences across pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. Fellows rotate through both inpatient and outpatient services, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, motility studies, liver biopsy, variceal banding, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, and capsule endoscopy.
- Training includes longitudinal continuity clinics, multidisciplinary conferences (pathology, radiology, aerodigestive), journal clubs, and quality improvement activities. Fellows gain expertise in caring for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, bowel dysfunction, liver disease, and complex nutritional disorders, and participate in specialized clinics such as feeding clinics and transplant hepatology.
- Research is an integral component of the fellowship, with mentorship for scholarly activity ranging from basic science to clinical research, presentations at national meetings, and opportunities to contribute to multicenter clinical trials.

Eligibility
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of pediatric residency (ACGME-accredited)
- Passing scores on required licensing exams (USMLE/COMLEX)
- ECFMG certification for international graduates, if required
- Submission of application via ERAS (including CV, personal statement, transcript, letters of recommendation) within the fellowship application window
- Invitation to fellowship interview by program leadership.

Admission Process:
