Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology

1. Completion of 3 years of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited clinical Pediatrics or Medicine-Pediatrics residency.
2. Must be eligible for the American Board of Pediatrics General Pediatrics examination upon completion of residency.
3. Applicants may be graduates of Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)-approved United States or Canadian medical schools.
4. Graduates of American Osteopathic Association-accredited osteopathic medical schools are eligible.
5. International Medical Graduates must have a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
6. International Medical Graduates must be eligible for a J-1 visa or have permanent resident/alien status.
7. The program does not sponsor H-type visas.

The Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, is a three-year program providing advanced training in the diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired heart diseases in infants, children, and adolescents. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical exposure at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and its Heart Institute, with training in areas such as pediatric cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure and transplantation, cardiovascular genetics, and adult congenital heart disease. The program also provides opportunities for research, teaching, and academic development.

1. Submit the application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Apply through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Pediatric Specialties Fall Match.
3. Submit a personal statement describing your interest in Pediatric Cardiology and training goals.
4. Submit a current curriculum vitae.
5. Submit three letters of recommendation, preferably including one from the residency program director, using the required Pediatric Cardiology Reference/Evaluation Form.
6. Submit the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate, if applicable.
7. Submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores and the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/Dean's letter.
8. Applications are reviewed holistically, and selected applicants are invited for a virtual interview.
9. The interview season generally runs from mid-August through early November.
