Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology

The three-year Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at UAB provides comprehensive clinical and academic training in pediatric and congenital cardiovascular disease. Fellows develop expertise in noninvasive cardiac imaging, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, inpatient and outpatient care, pre- and postoperative management, and consultation. The program also provides exposure to fetal cardiology, cardiac intensive care, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced cardiac imaging, along with opportunities for research, teaching, advocacy, and leadership development.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS); UAB Pediatric Cardiology participates in the fellowship application process through ERAS.
2. Submit the ERAS Common Application Form.
3. Submit three letters of recommendation, including one from the Department Chair or Residency Director.
4. Submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Steps 1, 2, and 3 scores, or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) Levels 1, 2, and 3 scores.
5. Submit a personal statement, curriculum vitae, and medical school transcript through ERAS.
6. Sign the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Applicant Agreement.
7. Selected applicants proceed through the program's interview and selection process.
