Fellowship in Oculoplastics

• Must have completed an accredited Ophthalmology residency training program
• Must be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois (USA)
• A permanent medical license is required for fellowship training
• Applicants should have interest in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery (Oculoplastics)
• Candidates are selected based on qualifications by the Oculoplastics fellowship preceptor/faculty
• Preference may be given to applicants with strong clinical, surgical, and research background in ophthalmology

The Oculoplastics Fellowship at UICOM is a 24-month advanced training program in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. The fellowship provides comprehensive, high-volume clinical and surgical training in eyelid, orbital, lacrimal, and facial aesthetic surgery. Fellows gain exposure to complex reconstructive procedures, multidisciplinary care with specialties such as dermatology, radiology, facial plastic surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery, along with opportunities for clinical research and academic presentations. The program is approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and prepares fellows for independent practice and academic careers in oculofacial plastic surgery.
