Fellowship in Intraoperative Neurologic Monitoring

1. Must be a graduate of an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency
2. Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California
3. The fellowship is a one-year, non-ACGME Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship with an emphasis on Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM).

The USC Intraoperative Neurologic Monitoring Fellowship Program is a 1-year, non-ACGME Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship focused on advanced Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM). Fellows receive supervised, hands-on training in the operating room, including the technical application and interpretation of sensory evoked potentials (SEP), motor evoked potentials (MEP), brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP), visual evoked potentials (VEP), and spontaneous/triggered EMG. Training also covers neurophysiology, instrumentation, real-time patient setup and monitoring, identification and interpretation of intraoperative neurological changes, and communication with surgeons to help prevent neurological injury. Training is conducted at Keck Hospital of USC.
