Fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine

The Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship at UCSF is a one-year, highly specialized training program designed to develop expertise in the clinical evaluation, imaging interpretation, and non-surgical interventional management of spine and musculoskeletal disorders. Fellows gain advanced skills in diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions affecting the spine and joints, with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive procedures such as fluoroscopy-guided injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablation. The program integrates hands-on procedural training with comprehensive patient care, allowing fellows to manage both outpatient and complex referral cases. In addition to clinical exposure, fellows participate in academic activities, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration, enhancing their understanding of rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and pain medicine.
