Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellowship is a one-year intensive training program focused on the management of complex Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Fellows receive inpatient and outpatient training at the University of Colorado Crohn’s and Colitis Center, lead the inpatient IBD service under faculty supervision, and participate in endoscopy. Additional rotations include colorectal surgery, pediatric IBD, radiology, and pathology. Approximately 30% of the fellowship is dedicated to research and scholarly activity, including clinical and translational research projects. The program develops expertise in advanced IBD diagnostics and therapies, management of complications and hospitalized patients, nutritional and preventive care, special populations, ileal pouches, and multidisciplinary IBD management, preparing graduates for independent practice as IBD specialists.

1. Complete the Colorado IBD Fellowship Application Form
2. Submit an updated CV
3. Submit 3 letters of recommendation, including a letter of good standing from the current Program Director
4. Submit a personal statement describing your interest in IBD and reasons for pursuing advanced fellowship training

6. Eligible candidates are invited to interview with University of Colorado IBD faculty
7. Final selection is made by the IBD fellowship program
