Fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

The UCSF Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellowship is a 1-year non-ACGME advanced fellowship program designed for gastroenterologists seeking specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The program provides comprehensive clinical training through inpatient and outpatient IBD care, advanced endoscopy, intestinal ultrasound, and multidisciplinary clinics involving colorectal surgery, pathology, radiology, dermatology, and other specialties. Fellows also participate in clinical research projects, national presentations, IBD conferences, and scholarly activities to develop expertise for careers in academic IBD practice and research.
