Fellowship in Hand Surgery

The Orthopedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School provides comprehensive subspecialty training in hand and upper-extremity surgery through clinical, didactic, and research experiences. The program emphasizes education over service and is designed to develop highly capable and compassionate hand surgeons who are prepared for independent practice. Training is supported by faculty specializing in hand and upper-extremity surgery and includes exposure to the broad range of hand and upper-extremity conditions encountered in clinical practice.

1. Submit the Hand Surgery Fellowship application according to the program's application requirements.
2. Provide an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Submit a Personal Statement.
4. Provide the required Letters of Recommendation, preferably including a recommendation from the Orthopedic Surgery residency program director.
5. Submit required USMLE/COMLEX examination documentation.
6. Provide required medical school and residency training documentation.
7. Selected applicants are invited for an interview.
8. Complete the required UMass Chan GME credentialing, licensing, and appointment process before starting the fellowship.
