The Hand Surgery Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship that provides advanced training in the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of hand, wrist, and upper extremity disorders. The program offers comprehensive clinical and operative experience in managing traumatic injuries, fractures, tendon and nerve injuries, congenital hand anomalies, arthritis, peripheral nerve disorders, microsurgery, reconstructive surgery, and upper extremity conditions. Fellows train alongside experienced faculty at UC Irvine Medical Center, VA Long Beach Healthcare System, and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), gaining exposure to a diverse patient population and complex surgical cases. The fellowship also emphasizes microsurgical techniques, research, multidisciplinary conferences, resident education, and academic development, preparing graduates for careers in specialized hand surgery practice and academic medicine.
