Fellowship in Global Women’s Health

• Must have completed an Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB-GYN) residency program
• Must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB-GYN) before starting the fellowship
• Must obtain an Illinois State Medical License prior to beginning the fellowship
• Candidates should have an interest in global women’s health, reproductive health, clinical care, education, and research
• Applicants should demonstrate commitment to improving women’s health through clinical services, research projects, healthcare education, and global health initiatives
• Prior experience or interest in global health work is preferred

The Global Women’s Health Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is a 2-year fellowship program designed to train obstetricians and gynecologists in improving women’s health outcomes through global clinical care, education, and research. The program combines one year focused on global women’s health activities and one year of clinical faculty experience. Fellows participate in global health research projects, development of educational initiatives, improvement of women’s reproductive and gynecologic healthcare services, and international field experiences. The fellowship provides mentorship and opportunities to collaborate with global health organizations and multidisciplinary UIC resources to address women’s health challenges worldwide. The program aims to develop future leaders in global women’s health by building skills in healthcare systems, research, clinical interventions, sustainability, and capacity-building efforts.
