Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist

• Must have completed an accredited four-year Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must hold a standard ECFMG certificate and must have completed postgraduate training in the United States.
• Fellows must obtain a California medical license before starting the fellowship.
• Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG).

The OB/GYN Hospitalist Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine is an advanced fellowship program focused on developing expertise in hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology care, patient safety, and quality improvement. The program provides comprehensive clinical training in high-risk labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, inpatient gynecology care, gynecologic surgeries, emergency consultations, simulation training, and multidisciplinary hospital care. Fellows also gain experience in teaching, clinical leadership, healthcare system improvement, and research activities. The fellowship prepares graduates for careers as OB/GYN hospitalists, hospital-based women's health specialists, clinical educators, and leaders in patient safety and quality improvement. The program offers one-year and two-year training tracks, with the two-year track including additional leadership training and a Master’s in Applied Science in Patient Safety and Quality.
