The Fellowship in Global Health at UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco is an advanced fellowship program designed for Emergency Medicine physicians who want to develop expertise in global emergency care systems, health policy, advocacy, education, research, and healthcare capacity building in low-resource settings. The program provides structured training in global health concepts, emergency medicine systems development, program management, and ethical practices in international healthcare. Fellows participate in clinical training at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), engage in international field experiences with global partners, contribute to World Health Organization (WHO)-related projects, and develop scholarly research projects. The fellowship also offers opportunities for advanced education through the Master of Science in Global Health (MSGH) program for eligible fellows and prepares graduates for careers in global emergency medicine leadership, academic medicine, international health organizations, and emergency care system development.
