Fellowship in Emergency Medicine Administration

The EM Administration Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco is a 1-year or 2-year administrative fellowship program designed for Emergency Medicine physicians seeking advanced training in emergency department leadership, healthcare administration, operations, and quality improvement. The fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to areas including emergency department operations, patient safety, quality improvement, healthcare economics and finance, billing and reimbursement, health policy, risk management, process improvement, medical informatics, staffing, utilization management, and patient satisfaction. Fellows maintain clinical responsibilities while gaining administrative experience through emergency department shifts at UCSF Medical Center. The program also includes participation in leadership training courses, development of a capstone project, and opportunities for research and scholarly activities, preparing graduates for leadership roles in academic emergency medicine and healthcare administration.
