Fellowship in Genitourinary Pathology

The Fellowship in Genitourinary Pathology at UCSF is a one-year, non-ACGME fellowship designed for physicians seeking advanced specialization in diagnostic genitourinary pathology. The program provides extensive experience in GU biopsies and surgical specimens, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular pathology, with exposure to complex and rare cases. Fellows participate in daily GU pathology consensus conferences, interdisciplinary tumor boards, and research conferences, with additional opportunities in urine cytology, medical renal pathology, and molecular pathology. Dedicated research time, teaching responsibilities, and opportunities for clinical and translational research further prepare fellows for careers in academic GU pathology, specialized community practice, research, or industry.

1. Complete the CAP Standardized Pathology Fellowship Application
2. Submit an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3. Submit a Personal Statement of Interest
4. Include a photograph in JPEG or PDF format
5. Obtain three Letters of Recommendation
6. Have the recommendation letters sent directly by the recommenders and/or program coordinator
7. Submit all application materials in PDF format via email to the Fellowship Program Administrator, Thongdam Pathoumthong
8. Applications are reviewed by the UCSF Genitourinary Pathology Fellowship program for selection
