Fellowship Course in Uropathology

• Completion of a 4-year Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) residency or a 3-year Anatomic Pathology (AP) residency.
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in AP or AP/CP.
• Must obtain a California Medical License before starting the fellowship.
• Applicants must have U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card status. J-1 and H-1B visas are not supported.

The Genitourinary (GU) Pathology Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year advanced fellowship program designed to provide comprehensive training in diagnostic genitourinary pathology. The program offers extensive exposure to the evaluation of non-neoplastic and neoplastic specimens from the kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, testis, and other GU organs. Fellows gain expertise in surgical pathology sign-out, consultation cases, frozen sections, immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, and specialized diagnostic techniques. The fellowship also includes participation in GU clinical conferences, tumor boards, resident teaching, and clinical/translational research projects, preparing fellows for independent practice and academic careers in genitourinary pathology.
